I was a police officer for nine years and on those busy nights, racing "call to call," it was so much easier to stop for food at a fast food restaurant or a convenience store. When I got my dream job working for the State against domestic violence, I was eating just as poorly, but for a different reason. I was living in an apartment by myself, away from my family during the week, and food was my comfort from loneliness, sadness, and boredom.

Through all these years of eating poorly and not exercising, the pounds began to pack on and my health was in jeopardy. My doctor informed me that my BMI was considered obese and my cholesterol levels were dangerously high - it was time for a change.

That's when I found Take Shape For Life through a friend who had lost over 50 lbs. in just three weeks on the 5 & 1 Plan! I started the 5 & 1 Plan myself, and found great success! After just five weeks, I had lost 25 lbs. and after 12 weeks, I'd lost 42 lbs.! My energy was through the roof and I was constantly motivated by my continued results. I am grateful for the weight that I've lost, and kept off, but I'm even more grateful for having my health back.
